COMPUTER SERVICES
 

BHA maintains comprehensive computer services for the technical and clerical activities throughout the company.  Having recognized early on the advantages of operating an in-house computer system, BHA established and continually improves its capabilities in this important support base.

An ever-expanding program library is maintained and updated by the staff.  Hydraulics models, analytical aerotriangulation, earthwork, survey and traverse calculations with plotting capabilities are examples of the software regularly applied.

BHA's computer system consists of an arrangement of Pentium Computers.  The PC's offer BHA, the tools for publishing, word processing, presentation graphics, computer aided design/drafting and coordinate geometry.  BHA utilizes AutoCAD and TerraModel for its CADD Software.  AutoCAD has become the benchmark for all CAD Applications.  CAD Applications are tremendously powerful tools.  The speed and ease with which a drawing can be prepared and modified using a computer offer a phenomenal advantage over hand preparation.  BHA utilizes this sophisticated technology as a time saver for project development.

BHA's computer capabilities allows the project to be processed through preliminary design to final design within moments.  This produces cost and time savings to both the Client and BHA.  Further computer graphics can be produced in slide and color printed format for Public Hearings and neighborhood workshops.  Translation of data from BHA's computer network to all popular formats is quick and error free.  Therefore, BHA can produce drawings that can be utilized by other disciplines such as Architects and Landscape Architects.
