SURVEYING AND MAPPING
 

BHA's crews are equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS), Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) Total Station Systems together with a Optical Total Station Survey System (TSSS).  Field personnel employ methods and procedures needed to attain the desired standard as specified in the Caltrans Survey Manual.  All field data is checked for conformance to specifications after which a least squares adjustment is applied before any survey/mapping information is released.
